Can you tell me a little bit about your organization, it’s mission and the community it serves?
What are some of the biggest challenges that your organization faced BEFORE the pandemic?
As we are all aware, the pandemic has impacted some New York City communities especially hard. Can you say anything about the impact on the community you serve?
In the absence of face to face programing and events, it must be very challenging to maintain connection to a community. How has your organization adapted to restrictions on in person gatherings? What steps have you taken to remain visible and relevant to your community?
NYC arts institutions face a financial double-whammy as city, state and federal funding streams are curtailed as a result of the covid related fiscal crisis. At the same time, the tourism industry, which is so connected to the economic life of arts and culture in our city has been decimated. How have the economic impacts of covid affected your organization? What kinds of strategies have you been able to employ to stay afloat financially in these difficult times?
We are likely in for a tough winter. Can you talk a little bit about your plans for the next few months?
Taking a longer-term view, what do you imagine some of the long-term impacts of the pandemic and the economic crisis will be on your institution, your community and the kinds of programing that you will offer?
One last question: How do you think New York City in general, and art and culture in New York more specifically, will change as a result of the pandemic?
